About Cadsf
A Garage Door Crew That Tells You How Long It Takes
Cadsf works on garage doors across Huntington Beach and the coastal cities either side of it. The trade side of what we do is ordinary: springs, cables, rollers, track, openers, full door replacements. What we have built the business around is the other half of the job, the part that happens in your driveway on a Tuesday morning while you are trying to get on with your day.
Years of doing this taught us that the question people are really asking, underneath the one about price, is how much of their life the repair is going to take up. Can they get the car out. Do they have to cancel the school run. Will the baby wake. Is somebody going to be wandering in and out of the house. Nobody in this trade answers those out loud, so most homeowners book a repair with no idea what they have agreed to.
How We Work
- An arrival window, not a working day. Two hours, with a call when we are about fifteen minutes away. If we are running behind you hear it from us before you have to ask.
- A duration quoted with every price. A spring job is about ninety minutes. An opener is two to three hours. A full door is most of a working day. Those go on the quote in writing.
- Nothing through the house. We work off the driveway and the garage floor. Doors, sections, rails and tools all come in through the open garage doorway.
- We take everything with us. Old springs, cables, the dead opener head, the sections of the old door, the cardboard and the banding. Then we sweep the driveway for screws.
- A real walkthrough at the end. Balance test by hand, safety reversal demonstrated on a length of timber, remotes and keypad programmed while you watch, and the manual release cord shown and pulled once by you.
The Standards We Work To
Every opener we fit meets the UL 325 entrapment requirements, which is the standard behind the photo eyes at floor level and the automatic reversal. Since July 2019, California SB-969 has required a battery backup on any residential opener sold or installed in the state, so a new opener from us will still get you out during an outage. On the coastal blocks we look harder at cables, bottom brackets and fixings than we would inland, because salt in the marine layer corrodes stranded steel from the inside where you cannot see it.
We are licensed and insured, and the paperwork we leave behind names the parts we fitted, the spring cycle rating where relevant, and what we tested before we packed up.
